If you have employees, your business could be at risk.  If you don’t carry employment practices liability insurance (EPLI) you, as an employer can be sued for a number of employment related situations.  Most employers take care of their employees but personalities and situations can arise creating a hostile environment or an unpleasant situation. EPLI insurance covers claims against an employer like sexual harassment, wrongful termination, discrimination, emotional distress and more. Employers defending against these types of lawsuits on their own can find the costs devastating. Many business liability policies in California don’t cover EPLI claims.  EPLI policies are well worth the cost and are relatively inexpensive.
