Are you prepared?  Southern California is prone to natural disasters.  From Wildfires to Earthquakes and even Flooding.  Make a plan for you and your family, don't forget your pets and animals. California business owners can be affected as well, have a business recovery plan for your business.  Inventory reports and data backups for your business can help get your business up and running more quickly.

Make sure you have the right coverage and enough coverage. Many policies provide replacement cost for dwellings/buildings and personal or business property.  But is it enough.  Often policies and coverage(s) get out of date.  Contact your Agent to make sure you've got enough coverage to rebuild your home or business.  Costs to rebuild can be more than originally estimated after a natural disaster.  Surges in construction costs and materials can leave you underinsured. Debris removal and building code changes can also add extra costs to a claim.

Have copies of your California Homeowner Insurance and California Business Insurance policies ready along with other valuable papers in the event of a loss.  Computer data back ups are also important for keeping your documents safe and organized.
