It’s been 20 years since the Northridge Earthquake. For those who lived through the quake we remember the devastating loss of property and lives. All of California is an earthquake zone along the Pacific Rim. The best thing we can do is to be prepared. It’s not if there’ll be another California earthquake its a matter of when. Earthquake preparedness is the best way to make sure your family is safe. Check your home to make sure you’ve secured heavy objects abd photos to the wall. Plan an escape route and have enough water, flashlights, extra batteries and canned foods to last you several days. Make sure you have extra tools and a first aid kit big enough to take care of your entire family. Don’t forget our little friends too…our pets. Keep extra food and water on hand for them too. Check your fire and earthquake insurance policies to make sure they are up-to-date and have the right amount of coverage. Don’t forget, after a “citywide” disaster, costs spike 25-50%. Be safe and be prepared.
